ROAD TOWN, Tortola, IV – As global countries embark on mass vaccination of its citizens, former Mrs BVI, Angelle A. Cameron says she believes the vaccine and rollout are part of an agenda being perpetrated to scare persons.

Speaking at the February 9, 2021 edition of the My BVI Radio show, Cameron questioned whether the Virgin Islands should be pushing the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine on the population, given that scientists are undertaking new vaccine research for more aggressive strains of the virus.

Vaccination is an Agenda - Ms Cameron

“I'm between two minds you know. I understand why we need to be vaccinated, I believe personally there's an agenda, it's only my own personal thoughts. We've seen it happen with other vaccines in the past,” she said.

Mrs Cameron; however, did not name instances where vaccines have been used as an agenda in a deadly pandemic, however, said that the current vaccination efforts may be necessary.

“I believe that this is a part of a scare tactic. Do I believe the vaccine is necessary? Yes. Do I believe this current first version of the vaccine is necessary? No, based on the data that's given and I think we need to see what the disease does.”

Cameron continued, “It's already proven that it can morph into something else, so let's explore that before we start experimenting on humans and lives,” she said.

'A great experiment' - Bishop Cline

Bishop John I. Cline who was also a panellist on the show agreed that the vaccine was indeed a great experiment, one that has made its way to the VI.

Meanwhile, new Governor John J. Rankin, who got vaccinated alongside Health Minister Carvin Malone (AL), said the government will be moving full speed ahead with vaccination which will build herd immunity in the territory.

“I believe by having an effective vaccine rollout with this, many people as possible receiving the vaccine can help our frontline workers, can help the older population, it can help the tourism economy get back on his feet, so it's a real sign of complete partnership [with the UK],” Governor Rankin went on to say.

Astra vaccine shown to maintain effect against UK variant- Bloomberg

According to Bloomberg, in a publication of February 5, 2021, AstraZeneca Plc’s COVID vaccine is about as effective against the new strain of the virus that emerged in the United Kingdom (UK) as against the initial version, according to a study by the shot’s co-developer, the University of Oxford.

Protection against symptomatic infection was comparable for the new variant as well as the earlier strain, according to the study, which analysed swabs taken from volunteers from October through mid-January. The findings are disclosed in a preprint version of the study that wasn’t peer-reviewed.

The results, Bloomberg said, should ease concerns about the effectiveness of existing vaccines against that particular mutant form of the virus, which health officials have said may be more infectious than the initial one. Other vaccine makers have said their shots appear to be effective against the strain identified in the UK -- though they’ve cautioned that booster shots or next-generation vaccines may eventually be needed as the virus evolves.

AstraZeneca shots halted in South Africa

However, a separate trial found that AstraZeneca’s vaccine offers only minimal protection against the highly infectious coronavirus variant that has emerged from South Africa, failing to meet the threshold for emergency use. Those results have led South Africa to completely halt distribution of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

There are indications that other coronavirus variants linked to Brazil may also be more problematic for vaccines.

Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine

The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine uses an adenoviral vector, which had been used to develop a vaccine for Middle East respiratory syndrome (Mers) – another member of the coronavirus family. It uses a genetically engineered chimpanzee adenovirus – which causes the common flu in apes – to carry the DNA for the Sars-CoV-2 spike protein into human cells. It becomes part of the host cell, triggering an immune response. The immune system then springs into action to fight off what it perceives to be a foreign invader.

The process leaves behind a protective memory that enables the body to tackle the real infection.

Trial results show that the vaccine is 90 per cent effective in preventing disease if administered at a half dose and then at a full dose, or 62 per cent effective if administered in two full doses. Professor Andrew Pollard, chief investigator of the Oxford Vaccine Trial group, said in December 2020, it will take a “little bit longer” to have robust data on the vaccine's effectiveness in older adults. However, he said not enough time had passed to know whether people were still protected a year after being vaccinated.

Why don't we allow the MEDICAL professionals to way in on the vaccine instead of persons who have no medical degrees putting fear in persons...smdh

You will be surprise to know that so many medical people are subjected to making false reports and have to uphold the agenda or they lose their licence. In U.S. many doctors are being paid to actually promote the vaccines. It is big business boss. They can't go against Billy Gatie. When you see all them sleeves pulling up, the dignataries and those on the vaccine payroll getting a different jab than the regular man. You ever see something advertising on tv and when you buy it , what is being sold don't work nowhere close to what they show you on tv? same thing with this global evil

“I understand why we need to be vaccinated, I believe personally there's an agenda..." Yes there is an agenda: to save lives, particularly those of older people by vaccinating them so they don't get sick.

This is too serious a topic to play hocus pocus with.

If that’s true why are they banning this vaccine and the others in certain countries ?

I'm intrigued to know more about her interpretation of the data that suggests the vaccine is not necessary. Maybe she could go through it in detail as I am sure she has a better grasp than the thousands of medical experts and epidemiologists who have been working to combat the virus. There also seems to be a failure to grasp that by suggesting an agenda, she adds to the noise creating more fear and scaring people. The fact that viruses mutate is not a new development that is particular to COVID, it is fairly basic knowledge that this is what viruses do and even more so if you let them run wild without trying to stop them through vaccination.

I would like to know the time line for the vaccines. It seems that we are not hearing any news about the distribution of vaccines in the BVI.

The vaccine hasn’t been studied long enough on a large population to know about any long term effects. The virus is barely over a year old and vaccines took about 6 months to develop including testing on subjects. The CDC themselves specifically Dr. Fauci, were saying that it would take much longer to develop and approve a vaccine and that it was near improbable that one would be approved by the end of last year but somehow it was done way ahead of schedule.

So you are saying the millions of who have contracted this disease, and the million of people who have died is all part of a planned agenda. To suite who? Look at the hundreds of thousands of new graves in Brazil. Do you think that is a fairy tale ? Wake up and smell the roses.

Or more was infected in your land only 1 died of this disease. Look at the ratio..now I will ask u is it that our community tortola has nearly one hundred percent recovery rate of this deadly virus compare to the high percentage death rate of the rest world as there want us to believe is because we got a cure or treatment for it ..well the answer is NO we dont got no remedy other than anyone esle ...so wat it is of this big percentage of difference of death rate of the rest of the world to us tortola...BOSS numbers dont lie and u cant tell lie with it words out of people does ok and something not adding up with the maths ...tell them come again...and I am a average thinking individual...lots in high places known wat really is ..

What are you even saying? The statistics of infections/death rates come with the context of what measure a given country implemented to ward off the virus. The US and Brazil (as the original commenter mentioned) had HORRIBLE efforts to mitigate the damage of the virus. The BVI's measures were excellent and we're fortunate to have only suffered one death--which at the time occured when there were 7/8 cases in the territory. Majority of the total cases we've recorded haven't even been from locals.

Also, vaccines aren't cure's/treatments. They're preventative, so you won't get sick. C'mon people, this knowledge isn't new.

I am a bvi lander living in the uk and in my area of residence and work I never in counter any such illness or anyone who have died other than ones who claim said there love one died from it .which we all know that was told to them by those in authority no such falling in the street like there first proclaimed in other places like where there say it originated ..china .but yet there is claim of this same virus mutate to so such higher deadlier levels and still no such dramatic event of people falling collapsing in public homes wat ever ..hmmm. I goes to work six days a week .ok and every one was going about there daily living with no masks no fear no such incident of ones falling over ok ..it only now u see people wearing mask because there made it mandatory to on buses jobs and supermarket..no absolutely such dramatic scenario of there claim of this virus and effects. It like it only on news television...and it not no black and white thing either both and all races are aware and being affected of such of an illusion. Dont think wat u seeing down there in the bvi I as a bvi lander living up here is witnessing it in living no it not it still all illusion of the magnitude it being proclaimed as ...but I can say to u in a small community it would be more difficult to pull off such for we all see and each and all ....think for ur self dont eat everything there put in your face......
Believe half of wat u see and nothing you hear..

About all this corvid and vaccinated politics the one thing in common with the believers and the dont is for sure uncertainty...but u know as an average citizen I also wonder does the ones pushing these different vaccines weather it private or government for free in the name of caring or doing helping us the people is that it for the true benefit of the people or there self's after all history has taught us of people and wealth.....hmm when that is of good is on the table the people majority is absent but now with we as the people around sitting at the table ...hmmm i bet u wat ever it is sharing now around that same table in the end it will be bitter. Weather it immediately or in the longer run....time and experience teach wisdom dont forget wat u learnt..nothing will never change...with the same people or games. .
