ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Magistrate Tamia Richards advised, Korrey Stoutt, resident of the Virgin Islands to apply for a final adjournment of his case, if the Virtual Complainant is not present on the next occasion.

According to the court, Stoutt has been attending his court dates since the matter started in November 2010, with the VC being absent on numerous occasions.

The defendant is currently facing assault charges.

Magistrate Richards, in addressing the court, stated that the defendant constantly comes to court for the matter to be dealt with, but the actions of the VC clearly states that she is not interested.

The court advised Mr. Stoutt to apply for a final adjournment on his case, “if the Virtual Complainant is not here on the next occasion, you can make an application to get your matter thrown out.”

Stoutt told the court that he is out of a job and the VC is paying no interest in the matter.

His matter was adjourned until October 17, 2012.

Is it because it was an assualt (which is a serious offense) why she too so long to suggest such actions? The VC not showing up makes her look like a liar. Just saying
