Cosmetologist charged with assault changes plea to not guilty
Smith is accused of committing the offence on Tuesday, April 9, 2012 on his partner at the time with whom he reportedly had been involved with for some three years up to the date of the offence.
Crown Counsel Leslie Ann Faulkner in relating the allegations, told the court that the Virtual Complainant (VC) has two children who were not the defendant’s and they all resided together at Huntum’s Ghut.
On April 9, 2012 the VC and the defendant were at home when he approached the VC and enquired about a statement made by her youngest daughter about a week before.
The statement made was allegedly in relation to “Airforce” sneakers and he allegedly said the VC had cheated on him with a male who wore the said “Airforce” shoes.
The VC said he heard the statement incorrectly and the child was in fact referring to earphones but the defendant allegedly did not believe the VC.
He allegedly got angry and held her hand then used his other hand to slap the VC in her face and used his fist to hit her in the left eye. A struggle then ensued and the defendant allegedly grabbed a spray bottle and curling iron and struck the VC with the items on her upper body and left arm.
The VC managed to run away from her room and got to her daughter’s room and locked the door. The defendant allegedly pounded on the door but was unable to enter.
Whilst at the door, he allegedly told the VC he would put a ‘cut arse’ on her and her daughter for lying and said she can call the Police if she wished. The VC stayed in the room until the defendant left then made a report to the Road Town Police Station.
The defendant was met the following day and informed of the report made against him and was cautioned when he allegedly replied “I am surprised it reach so far still, I get injuries too, on my fingers and muscles but she was the one with the curling iron, but it’s ok.”
He was then arrested on suspicion of causing assault occasioning actual bodily harm and taken to the station where an interview was conducted. During this the defendant allegedly did not deny the incident but instead stated that he got injuries too. He was later formally charged for the offence.
The defendant remains on $20,000 bail and was asked to return to court on February 7, 2013 when his trial is expected to commence.

He threatened her and her daughter with a cut arse. If I were her I would leave this place because these crazy a$$ men with no regard for life will do it when given the chance, then what? They put him in jail and his sorry a$$ still lives. These women need to wake up and stop having relationships with these crazy good for nothings and stop putting their children's lives at risk . They think it's cute to be with a bad boy? Well a coffin does not match any outfit so no more looking cute if he follows through with his threat.
