CoP Collins should have been sent home for ‘Breach of Trust’- Julio S. Henry

- said Najan Christopher being charged exemplifies hypocrisy in system as CoP should have been sent home over Police in Paradise video
According to Julio S. Henry aka ‘Sam’, while on his show Speak out BVI on ZBVI 780 AM on October 11, 2022, the Police Commissioner, Mark Collins, in photo, should have also been sent home for Breach of Trust over the controversial and damaging ‘Police in Paradise’ video, since it was potentially damaging to the territory’s reputation, which its financial services and tourism industries heavily depend on. BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- As many in the public have turned to social media to show support for public officer Najan Christopher, who was arrested and charged for a diplomatic note in favour of former Premier Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), a talk show host has pointed out what he termed as hypocrisy in the system.

According to Julio S. Henry aka ‘Sam’, while on his show Speak out BVI on ZBVI 780 AM on October 11, 2022, the Police Commissioner, Mark Collins, should have also been sent home for Breach of Trust over the controversial and damaging ‘Police in Paradise’ video, since it was potentially damaging to the territory’s reputation, which its financial services and tourism industries heavily depend on.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) announced on October 11, 2022, that Director of the International Affairs Secretariat Najan Christopher was charged for Breach of Trust and False Assumption of Authority.

‘Hypocrisy’

According to Mr Henry, the arrest and charging of Ms Christopher while the Commissioner of Police gets off scot-free is “confusing” to him.

“It exemplifies the hypocrisy in our system to see people like Najan who was doing her job at the time, in the capacity of her job, now being vilified and charged for doing her job, but the Police Commissioner, who was involved in a very despicable situation. He was engaged, he granted permission to an outside agency in the United Kingdom to come into the territory and he himself assisted in putting together a videotape to basically discredit and destroy the reputation of the territory. But he wasn’t sent home for breach of trust,” Henry pointed out.

Guest on the show and local activist Melissa M. Potter interjected that the information used in the Police in Paradise video was sensitive information and which was supposed to be used in an ongoing investigation. “Where is his charge?” she also asked.

Mr Henry opined that only the Commissioner of Police would have had the authority to release footage of such a ‘heinous’ crime to a civil agency, yet he was not reprimanded.

The footage in question was of a fatal shooting at Fish Bay on March 16, 2021.

‘People wake up, what is wrong with us?’ Melissa M. Potter

“On the same hand, the Police Commissioner, weeks before, was engaged in a video destroying or trying to destroy the reputation and paint the Virgin Islands as a gangland, drug-infested, murdering place.

“And what did our Governor say, Mr John Rankin say? He said it (the video) was unacceptable. But that’s it. [Rankin is saying]; ‘he [the Commissioner] is with me and I’m going to protect him’. But at the same time, here is law enforcement enforcing law on our citizens of this territory. If that doesn’t enrage you, I don’t know what will ladies and gentlemen,” Henry said.

Meanwhile, Ms Potter said it was time that the people of the Virgin Islands wake up before it is too late.

“What will it take for our people to get enraged? Not criminally enraged, but united, come together and decide this must stop. It is more than time. People wake up, what is wrong with us?” Potter stated emphatically.

Henry dont just look like a clown. Dude is bonafide. The CoP argument lacks merit. While the CoP video lacked taste for the time it was leaked, absolutely nothing presented in the video was false, misrepresented or slanderous. New flash- but the CoP job is too guess what….report on crimes, whether its paints a rossy picture or dire potrait. Its time guys like you wake up and acknowledge the crime problem in our lands.

Naja created, under official seal and her hand, a document that she did not hold the right to compose. She in effect provided a false letter of credence, which usually only is provided by the head of that state, a state secretary or in the case of the OT, the Governor or Deputy. This is where she breach the public trust.

Making dumb videos is not a crime, but making false documents you do not legal have the right to produce is.

The trust couldn't have been breached unless they acted on its content. It was simply a misrepresentation of the fact.

they did act on it, his lawyer used it in a court of law, so it was used, the judge just dismissed it as he did not hold that position.

Mr. Julio S. Sam, you have rights to your own opinions. But the stirring up us contention among our people by decisive speeches is not wise. You don't employed and sent the BVI Police Chie here to carry out his appointed duties, nor can you, and his haters fire him or send him home.
I have no personal hate in my heart against you, but don't let the your middle name (S) means stupid.
Don't forget this truth, the "hitman" also can get hit by other hitmen. I am trying to advised you correctly.

But, didn't the same COP smuggle persons for interviews into the BVI? Yes, there might be truth in the video, but does it depict a good picture of the land that you live in? We need to put the cap where the cap needs to be. We keep making excuses. There is not a country in this world that is perfect. But, what he did was not lawful, he brought people here without permission.

We're only a stance for "independence" away from it being ours. (People of the VI).

you are a dreamer, only about 10% of the voting population want independence at this moment , now once the 2 years are up and all recommendations are done that percentage will rise, but not for a long time.

In the BVI anyone one could be a Show Host. Here is a man who sits on a board that determine which of our children gets a scholarship to go to college. How can one be so dumb? Ms. Christopher was accused of committing an offence. .Whether we agree with how this matter was handled she will be given due process in a court of Law. The Commissioner of Police may not be forth coming with the matter surrounding the Video but there is nothing to suggest that anything on it amount to a criminal offense namely "Breach of Public trust. For too long now we have been defending persons who committed or are accused of committing criminal offences. Some of this person are either dead ( as in being killed) or are in prison. All these things stem from the action of one man the former Premier. He hand the UK or the DEA in his hand but chooses to be corrupt. All he had to do instead of going to the "meetings" with a calculator, he should have taken a recording device accept the money being offered to him, call a press conference the next day and produce the recordings and the money and tell the world how the UK /DEA was trying to entrap him. Man! The whole territory would have rallied around him. He had a chance to be a hero instead he allegedly choose to be a criminal. To say he did not commit an offense here in the territory is false. If the recordings are true he finds he at least committed the offense of "breaching public trust" and the nature of this offense if proven would have disqualified him from being in Public Office. It is time that we stop idolizing criminals!!

LIKE REALLY, THE MAN HAVE COMIT MANY OFFENSES IN THE TERRITORY BUT WAS NEVER CAUGHT BECAUSE EVERYONE TURN A BLIND EYE AND PLAYED THE STUPID GAME WHICH IS THE NORM HERE IN THE BVI. HE GOT, GOT ON US SOIL. GREEDY BLOOD WAS RUNNING THROUGH HIS VEINS THE DAY HE STEP ON THE PRIVATE PLANE AND TOUCH THE DEA MARKED MONEY IN THE DESIGNER BAGS. DON’T MESS WITH THE DEA OR THE FEDS. IF THE GREEDY JACKA** DID NOT TOUCH THE MONEY, HIS A** WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN SNATCHED UP.

Really. The truth is an offense but not a sin nor a crime.
The video makes the BVI look bad but it is the truth.
How many young fathers were gunned down leaving their young children behind. Some of the murders still unsolved.. How may times some of the young men were chased after, by boat, helicopter etc with drugs on board. They try dumping tem so they won't get caught with them.
Yet you have the nerve to ask that question. I'm from right here and I am black. Right is right, wrong is wrong. You all need to stop. Some of the parents benefitting from some of the pics their young sons are doing so they turn a blind eye.

A good time to put the BVI and its inhabitants up for sale would be during the upcoming period of direct rule by the UK. Just like old cars the UK just needs to keep this place running but not spend any more money here until a buyer comes along and puts down the 10% deposit. The real estate firms can advertise the BVI's 60+ tropical islands all over the internet and hopefully some wealthy country or person will make the plunge, buy the BVI, rename it and take over while the UK pockets billions of pounds.
