It would have been impossible for it to fall on another vehicle, as it was in the left lane and fell on the sidewalk. No what if it had fallen on a pedestrian? I usually walk there.

Is it lack of maintenance or carelessness?

The most likely culprit of this is the weight distribution in the container.

If you’re too lazy to wind the legs on the container up enough too avoid hitting the ground when you hit a bump the legs dig in and bounce the container out of the unit attachment.

Most if not all the drivers of these transport trucks have no training in the operation ok these trucks we have been lucky so far, most of the drivers drive so fast if they had to stop in an emergency they will not be able to stop. I know for sure in the US and Canada you have to past knowledge and skills tests before to you get a Commercial Driver License to drive these transport trucks.

I wonder how many of these "Truck man" are actually trained and licensed to operate these heavy vehicles. No place like BVI

The fact of the matter is the trailer was NOT secured properly on the truck, which is the fault of the trucker, period! Thank goodness no one was injured when that monster came crashing down!

Security at the Port must demand mandatory security of these containers before driver pass gate. And fine them if they did not buckle up.

This is a serious accident as these trailers are locked into the hitch. there need to be a serious investigation into this incident as it will happen again and it may be different result.
