What took our politicians so long to approach the general public on this issue of constitution review?
Is it only lately been considered because of the 49 CoI recommendations?
How come the same Constitution Review Commission that has shut down a motion brought to th HoA, Sept. 21, 2022 by opposition member Hon. Carvin Malone in such a rush to get the same motion starting today, November 1st 2022?
This is on of the difference I have with the Unity Government. When a proposal is good for us accepted it, whether it is proposed by the ruling Cabinet or the opposition.
How many more time will many of us need before we come to the understand that we need to change our mindet, that the wrong way that we have managed our country, politically speaking, have not worked in the best interest of all our citizens, but rather the minority.
Without urgent change in the style we practice our political management, things will only get more damaging for us not better, especially the small income workers and government employees that was forced to and have worked overtime without been paid. Probably some of them still are,

Like it or don't like it, the CoI probed into the mismanagement by elected politicians of our finances was necessary.

The constitution is the foundational document that outlines the framework, the principles, through which the territory is governed. For example, it details how government is structured with roles and responsibilities, ie, legislative, executive and judicial branche; fundamental rights, etc. The success of the Constitutional Review Commission(CRC) to develop a plan of action to discuss and negotiate constitutional amendments and advancements with the UK is a function of and depends heavily on the full community participation/engagement in providing inputs. As such, the community should take advantage of the opportunity to participate in the process. Moreover, the territory’s constitution is modeled after the Westminister system used in the UK and most other former British colonies saved for the US which uses the Presidential system. The Westminister system has some basic flaws, ie, separation of powers doctrine, etc., that CRC can negotiate changes to correct. The Westminister system should be modified to meet the needs of the Virgin Islands and Virgin Islanders.
