‘CoI has made us afraid of being family & friends'- Skelton-Cline
On the June 15, 2021, edition of his Honestly Speaking radio show on ZBVI 780 AM, Mr Skelton-Cline said as a result of the ongoing inquiry, persons are allegedly starting to disown each other.
“I don't know how in God's name… because a COI is happening… you are allowing that process for you to disown each other,” he said.
Skelton-Cline continued, “We are family, we are friends we're not all bosom buddies. A few of us won't be the first ones we call when the worst happens, but you should be unapologetic and unashamed in your culture,” he said.
Virgin Islanders live like family – Skelton-Cline
The local clergyman further called on Virgin Islanders to remain unique and don't let this process erode the social fabric of the territory.
“We are family, we are friends, own it and all each other. Man up and woman up, speak truth to power as you know it best,” he said while underscoring that Virgin Islanders have always lived like family.
“We've been living like this since we know ourselves as brothers and sisters supporting each other, critiquing each other, running campaigns against each other and still going over having a drink with each other”
He also asked that Virgin Islanders not let a process of the UK running a CoI cause a greater wedge and division between the people of the territory.

In a big city people can be rude selfish screw people over and never see them again. That’s why city folk known to be slick while country folk are raised to be trusting.
I fully support the age old district fund, it is good for our society.
When one hand can’t clap we can’t go about our business without helping, that’s not the culture most of us grew up in especially as christians and religious people.
Considering the amount of money’s spent in other areas which often offer nothing tangible or could be done cheaper...
I think it should be increased and a portion set aside for youngsters small scale entrepreneurship. They can make money for themselves, innovate and eventually hire in the community.
Support the low population it can be our strength not a weakness, belongers are of all races.

This CoI is raising some key questions as to how it is that those who are charged with legislating and creating the laws of the territory find it oh so difficult to lead from the front and be law-abiding themselves. We keep watching. Vigilate.
