Clash of horse giants Town Hall vs Really Uptown set!

Race horses Really Uptown, Town Hall and Ethelred are set to go head-to-head in the ultimate showdown of speed and power soon when the VI Horse Owners Association hosts its annual Easter Races at Ellis Thomas Downs on April 13, 2014.
The horses will compete in the feature main race, a 7 furlong sprint that will determine the best of the best in VI horseracing. There will also be four other supporting races on the card for race day.
Owner of Town Hall and head of Family Affairs Stables, Alex V. Lake, wasted little time in throwing down the gauntlet to the L&B Stables camp which controls champion horse Really Uptown.
“It’s time to hand over the crown,” Lake declared in no uncertain terms recently when asked about his horses preparations going into the race.
Really Uptown is currently the holder of several titles, including the Governor’s Cup and VI Triple Crown, creating history in being the first horse to achieve the Crown feat by winning consecutive races.
Uptown’s dominance of the sport was unquestioned until the horse suffered a serious injury in July 2013 forcing it into a lengthy layoff that meant no races ever since.
Since then however, Town Hall has emerged as the dominant force, winning back to back races on VI soil and also in St Croix recently.
Meanwhile, Ethelred of the Boys Stables looms as a literal dark horse in the competition and members of the camp are contending that the horse is not to be taken lightly despite its recent disappointing returns abroad.
Trainer, David Campbell aka Jamdown said even though the horse may be counted as being out of the running for a win at the moment, the horse promises big things with its pedigree.
