We had 30 entries for the Coconut Tart category alone, which shows how well-supported this tradition is. The participation and excitement keep me motivated to continue organizing this competition year after year.”

Ms Monsanto also addressed feedback received from participants, particularly those in the Guavaberry Category noting, “I’ve heard from many of the Guavaberry drink makers about the need to match the prize value with those of the Coconut Tart and Black Cake categories. Considering the cost and effort involved, especially during this time of year, I’m happy to announce that the prizes for the Guavaberry category will increase next year. So, to all the Guava Berry enthusiasts out there, start preparing!”

Give me my pineapple, guava and guava berry tart any day. Don’t like coconut tarts. The thing that turned me off from coconut tart is someone I know put a drop of anise oil in the stew coconut.

Is the tarts that the older ones use to make. Everyone can not make tarts. Some people tarts is to doughy and thick. So glad I use to sit and watch my late grandma baking tarts, homemade bread and coconut breads.
