ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI—President of the BVI Cancer Society, Gloria Fahie, has emphasised that the financial contributions from First Caribbean International Bank (CIBC) have consistently provided essential support to cancer patients and their families.

On Friday, March 27th, 2026, CIBC announced that it had achieved its 2025 fundraising target of $75,000 and has now set a new target of $100,000 through its Walk for the Cure Caribbean campaign.

CIBC's contribution provides crucial support

During a brief ceremony, Fahie commended the bank’s efforts, stating that CIBC's unwavering support enables the BVI Cancer Society to offer crucial assistance to those affected by cancer.

“From access to treatment and medication, to travel, support, housing, education, and awareness programs, your generosity gives more than funding. It gives hope. It gives strength. It gives reassurance to families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives,” Fahie remarked.

CIBC demonstrates true corporate responsibility

She noted that CIBC has demonstrated true corporate responsibility, adding, “Year after year, you show up, you stand with us, you invest in the well-being of our community, and the consistency meets a measurable difference.”

Fahie also highlighted that CIBC's assistance goes far beyond a donation check; it resonates through hospital rooms, support group meetings, and the quiet gratitude expressed by families.

Since 2012, the bank has organised the Walk for the Cure Caribbean campaign.
