FAT HOGS BAY, Tortola, VI – Talk show host and community activist, Julio S. Henry has slammed the local clergy for not providing updates on what came out of their meeting with the UK Minister for the Overseas Territory, the Rt. Hon Amanda A. Milling.

Hon Milling as part of her visit to the VI for meetings on the CoI Report and its recommendation said she met with Christian Council Representatives, key figures in the finance sector, and representatives of community groups to listen to a wide range of voices for their views on the recommendations on the CoI Report.

According to Hon Milling, they shared a range of perspectives on the impact of corruption and poor governance on the people of the Territory and what needs to be fixed as a priority.

Henry while as a guest host on the May 6, 2022, edition of ‘Da Morning Braff’ radio show on Tola Radio VI however said the Christians Council who met with the Minister are yet to provide an update.

Update needed on meetings - Henry

“The Minister said herself when she gave her a departing statement that she did meet with community-minded persons, clergy people from the churches, and so forth. So, church people, y'all need to come out and give the people them an Update,” he said.

Henry also called on local congregations to stop attending the church of pastors who were at the meeting and have shared an update.

“If you know that your pastor was sitting in that room and he don't have the audacity nor the decency nor the representation to come to you and tell you a loyal Church goer, that he was in the room or she was in the room… what was said and this is they believe was the representation. Don't go to them church no more,” he added.

Henry added, “They ain't the people you need to be following. A great leader, a real leader will by now be updating you on whatever took place so.”

one would think holding public meetings so the people’s voice can be heard

It is amazing how a handful of people think they should speak on the behalf of thousands

13 people that sat in political office over the years have caused the issues that the people now have to come to grips with

I am sure she also understands that a lot of you who complaining and keeping noise saying hateful things about others is just as greedy and power hungry. Y'all are no different and only vex because y'all are not in control. Too much hatred and jealousy in the BVI. Pulling down each other like crab in a barrel. Evwrybody want to be in charge. Even those who came to better their lives now feel that they should be in charge too You didnot have a say in your home country so you left but now you get an opportunity to make a few dollars you want all. Everyone r you expats or local who ranting and raging needs to check your selves your behavior is no better than the people you are throwing stones at.

That is why I don’t go sit on Sunday between these set of HYPOCRITES. The churches is where you find the most evil hypocrites. Their mouths is wide open looking up to the skies like turkeys on a farm does when it is raining taking in water and drowning. Their mouths is crazy glued when it is time to share with the public the update of the meetings. Out here with the nonsense but pray for a crook.

I still don't understand what was their purpose or mission for seeing the Hon Lady. . They are useless, they never speak up and out against all the obvious wrongs, now they want to use this event to be useful...

Depending on Christian pastors, preachers and self appointed ministers to publicize confidential political information is like asking Inland Revenue to compute your payroll tax each month. The info/tax you will receive is what they want you to pay and NOT the truth.

I'm confused. You write, "Depending on Christian pastors, preachers and self appointed ministers to publicize confidential information .." Please think - if they made "confidential information" public, wouldn't you be out there calling them unethical? SMH.

Nothing good of course or else it wouldn't be so hush-hush. The UK already made its decision they are just strategizing how to implement it without looking bad. They need to get all the little countries/territories in line for the one world government.

Some of them had personal agendas and conflicts of interest. Also, remember the churches received large sums of money from the COVID stimulus

Did they submit the receipts for all the Tax money they got. And an explanation as to what they did with the monies they got. I wonder If the Hon Milling or the Gov remember to ask them that .

And oh Fahie was wrong but after what they said they bury him

Why are you taking it personally? That’s part of the problem with the BVI. People taking issues personally when it has nothing to do with them.

The big and small fish was fighting. My thing with Carvin was he failed his Portfolio. I always believe, that a Health Minister should have a medical background. Vincent was slow to produce and it got way to ahead of him. they got to comfortable and they got caught off guard. Let that be a lesson to them it is clean up time.

The new government should tell us what they discussed with the Rt Hon. Amanda Milling. The government are the ones who answer to the people NOT the churches.
