Charles & Hodge-Julian sweep Prince & Princess titles

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Virgin Islands Festival Prince and Princess 2019 Pageant was held at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex on July 21, 2019 where E’ssense Hodge-Julian and Ty'rique Charles overwhelmingly captured the hearts of the audience and the judges.

Hodge-Julian, 11, collected awards for Popularity, Best Talent, Best Evening Wear, Best Circus Tortola Wear, and Best Ambassadorial Wear.

The newly crowned princess, a student of Pelican Gate, aspires to become a lawyer and previously said she decided to enter the show since it provided a “great opportunity to enhance my public speaking skills, make new friends, and share my bold personality with the BVI.”

The First Runner-up was D’Asia A. Forbes.

The other contestants for the Princess crown were Chanecia A. Pinnock and Mieshia George.

Charles, 8, on the other hand swept awards for Popularity, Congeniality, Best Talent, Best Evening Wear, Photogenic, Best Introductory Dance, Best Circus Tortola Wear, Best Ambassadorial Speech and Best Ambassadorial Wear.

Charles, who dreams of becoming a professional basketball player, is also a student of Pelican Gate in West End, Tortola.

The other contestant for the Prince show was T’Sean Smith.
