Chapman gets boost from Nagico!
Chapman, who has steadily climbed the world squash rankings since turning pro a little over a year ago, recently took time off from his international tournament schedule tour to meet with Nagico BVI Managing Director, Shan Mohamed to discuss his future plans in the sport.
This is the second consecutive year that NAGICO is teaming with Mr. Chapman.
Following their meeting, Shaquilla Smith, Customer Relations Officer presented a cheque to the 22-year old Chapman. He then presented the company with a framed large print photograph with a special message.
“We are impressed with the progress Joe has made on the international stage. As a company we can relate to his professionalism and drive to remain at the top of his game. The sports organizations can only do so much; hence, it is up to the corporate community to help the Territory’s young athletes realize their full potential. NAGICO will continue to offer that support for many years to come,” Mr. Mohamed stated.
In accepting the cheque, Mr. Chapman stated that all the top BVI athletes should seek to work with companies to create a mutually beneficial relationship.
“From the onset of my career as a professional squash player, I knew I wanted to partner with sponsors that share my philosophy. NAGICO Insurances and I have a hard work ethic and a drive to be the very best in our respective fields”
He added, “Since partnering with NAGICO, I have risen in the rankings from World #389 to World #114. I am now the highest ranked player in the Caribbean and hopefully have opened doors for other players in the region.”
Mr. Chapman also commended Mohamed for his great leadership not only in business, but for his support of sports and culture in the territory.
“I value our relationship and am very proud to be associated with the NAGICO Insurances brand. I hope we can partner for many years to come as I continue to rise through the rankings,” Chapman noted.
