Chantel E. Malone takes Long Jump Gold in Spain
Malone cut the sand at 6.56 metres to win the Women’s Long Jump final ahead of Chanice Porter of Jamaica, who was second with a leap of 6.51 metres.
Third was Monica Vicente of Spain (6.49 metres).
Malone later commented on her Facebook page, “It was ugly today but got the Win in Madrid, Spain tonight! More to come!”
Malone won Pan Am gold with a leap of 6.68 metres at the Estadio Nacional, in Lima, Peru on August 6, 2019.

The feat set a new Virgin Islands and OECS Long Jump Record and helped her qualify for the Pan Am Games and the World Championships in Doha, Qatar set for September 28 to October 6, 2019.
