ROGUE'S BAY, Tortola, VI- Just a week after a cement truck went off a hillside in George's Northside, a cement truck toppled at Rogue's Bay on Tortola this morning, February 1, 2023.

It is unclear how the driver lost control of the heavy duty vehicle; however, the truck ended up blocking a main road at Rogue's Bay.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) had notified the public of the road becoming inaccessible.

"The RVIPF is advising the public that due to an accident in Rogue's Bay this morning, vehicle traffic is restricted to this area," Police stated earlier today.

The driver of the cement truck was reportedly taken to Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital and was to have escaped serious injury.

Yep. Cement truck destroys the road, cement company gets contract to repair the road and so the cycle continues. Good work if you can get it.

so now this makes me question, do these trucks go thru any kind of regulatory inspections, as say for example with the ferries? we all kno some of the private owners dnt be caring they do the bare minimum just to have the trucks running but not actually functioning to its PROPER capacity. With our terrain, this is playin with ppls lives, whether is the companies or the drivers themselves...risky business.

I'm not saying this is this driver issue but I can tell you it seems like we have concrete truck racing in B.V.i. for I cannot understand what is wrong with some of these drivers.

Do management take stock of how their workers operate these machinery. Not only that but they are cleaning the truck all over the place making the place look so untidy. Shame on some of them. They think they are down island. Our roads are narrow if you know what the public sees on a daily basis with these trucks and truck drivers it's only a matter of time before they run other vehicles off the road and cause a catastrophe. Fish bay seems to be the worst mind you management take stock of your businesses and warn your workers. Yes competition is great but better you take time to see the bigger picture. Who in the kitchen feels the heat warn your workers of the danger they are continuing to cause the public. Due care is needed on the roads stop playing.

"They think they are down island". Is your comment suggesting that these drivers, presumably from 'down island', are accustomed to driving on better roads and so don't how to handle ours?

Mark you if you think these are the toy trucks keep playing. DMV need to step up the RVIPF need to step up. The minister who is responsible for the DMV better do what is right and not sell his soul for a vote this election everyone wants a license children just out of school with truck license you better wake up.

The RVIPF traffic department need to step up for there are so many vehicles with out regulations stickers on these roads from west to east, east to west cars, big trucks name the mode of transportation. To many vehicles with blackout tinted crime is rampant crack down on these issues. Private vehicles, taxi busses cars, safaris, shuttle vehicles, rentals, commercial vehicles, trucks all mode of transportation. We are to slack. Business owners please take pay attention to your investment's. Do proper maintenance on these machinery.
Treat your workers well and they will treat you well.
