Cedar International students visit Colombia for first-ever overseas student trip

BOGOTA, Colombia- A group of students from Cedar’s International School in the Virgin Islands recently participated in the institution’s inaugural student trip as part of Cedar’s annual Experiential Learning Week, from May 25-29, 2026.

The group comprised thirteen students and three staff members.

The students travelled to Colombia, which provided a valuable opportunity for them to learn beyond the classroom. 

Connecting classrooms with the wider world

According to a Facebook post, the students explored beautiful locations, immersed themselves in Colombian culture, and gained confidence in using Spanish in real-life situations. 

The institution further stated in the post that experiences like this highlight the importance of connecting classroom learning with the wider world. 

It added, “We are proud of how our students embraced the challenge, engaged with the culture, and represented Cedar so well throughout the trip.”
