Caul MVP as BVI Future lifts Ball A Rama Easter Championship
Caul’s team, the BVI Future, also had a highly successful weekend as they won their last game, against St John, to lift the Championship Trophy.
The Future got off to a winning start on the Saturday with a 55-15 rout of St Croix Positive Guidance, led by Caul’s 14 point haul and 8 points each from Akeem Nibbs and Terrique Wattley.
In the next game the Future had a come from behind victory against St Thomas Jah Youths, thanks to a massive 35 point second half effort inspired by Kishaun Esprit’s 17 point total. Down 3 at the half way point the Future eventually won the game 53-45. Malaki Smith and Kadir Maduro both added 4 points to the team effort.
The third game of an action packed schedule pitted the Future up against St Thomas To Win It All and despite going down 50-41 despite a 24 point scoring spree from Caul. Akeem Nibbs contributed 9, but the Future, who had reached half time just 3 down couldn’t find a response to a powerful second half from one of the host teams.
Despite the loss the Future had done enough to take on St John, win and come home victorious.
Caul’s point scoring run earned him the coveted MVP Trophy.
