The government does have a Fire boat but its been rotting on the dock after $$$$ being pumped into it and never used. I think they last plan was to pump more $$$ and make it a hospital boat.

The 8 people aboard are so thankful for the surrounding boaters help. None of us have any idea what happened and we were all asleep. None of us smoked, we returned from Soggy Dollar before dark, no one was drunk, the grill wasn’t used in the last two days. We were all asleep when one of us woke up and screamed. We only had a couple of minutes to get out of the boat before the main salon was in flames. Thank god the boat had an exit on the front of the boat because the stern was in flames also, none of us are sure we would have remembered the escape hatch.
Most of all we thank all the people that helped us along the way, too many to mention. We got home safe and sound!

So glad to hear you got home. We heard about it from everyone when we moored in great harbor the night after it happened.

My brother was captaining one of the vessels that helped save the people from the burning boat.
