ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Governor Daniel Pruce has encouraged Virgin Islanders to carry the spirit of community and compassion into the new year.

During his 2025 holiday message, the Governor reflected on the past year.

“This year, I've had the privilege of working alongside so many members of our wonderful community, including hosting future female leaders for International Women's Day, supporting men's health initiatives with the BVI Red Cross, and engaging with so many of the diverse volunteer groups doing such great work across the territory.”

Governor Pruce added that hosting His Majesty the King's birthday party was one of the year’s highlights as it was the “greenest and most sustainable yet”.

Community & compassion

“As we look to 2026, let's all carry forward the spirit of community and compassion," he said, explaining that this can be shown by volunteering, supporting local initiatives, or simply checking in on a neighbour.

“Every act of kindness strengthens our Virgin Islands community…I look forward to a new year of continuing to work with partners across the entire community to build security, prosperity and opportunity.”
