Carrot Bay Seniors win Family Feud: Seniors’ Edition

PARAQUITA BAY, Tortola, VI- The Carrot Bay Senior Engagement Programme ‘Creme of the Crop’ emerged victorious at the Family Feud Seniors’ Edition held last weekend.

The competition was one of the signature activities for the 37th Senior Citizens’ Month and was held at the Eileene L. Parsons Auditorium, H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC). 

The competition was described as having “friendly competition, laughter and community camaraderie”. 

Carrot Bay definitely were the Creme of the Crop

The Carrot Bay Seniors defeated the East End/Long Look Senior Engagement Programme ‘Rising Sun’ in the final round of competition, honouring their name ‘Creme of the Crop’. 

The Oasis Seniors Programme from Cane Garden Bay also participated in the competition. 

Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Vincent O. Wheatley (R9), said seniors continue to inspire through their wisdom, resilience, and enthusiasm for life. 

“Events such as the Family Feud Seniors’ Edition not only provide opportunities for recreation and fellowship, but also reinforce the importance of healthy and active ageing. I congratulate all participating teams, especially the Carrot Bay Senior Engagement Programme ‘Creme of the Crop’ on their well-deserved victory.”

Meanwhile, Acting Chief Social Development Officer Ms Shirma C. George said the event highlighted the success of this year’s Senior Citizens’ Month celebrations and the importance of continued community engagement for seniors.

“The enthusiasm displayed by all participants demonstrates that our seniors remain active, engaged, and deeply connected within their communities. The Department of Social Development is pleased to continue providing opportunities that encourage wellness, social interaction and meaningful participation among our elderly population.”

This year’s Senior Citizens’ Month was celebrated under the theme ‘Champion Your Health’.
