The comments below about racism are ridiculous. The decision to prosecute is made by the black DPP and not the white COP.
There are all sorts of concerns about the ability of the DPP but she has never been accused of racism against black people.

How come he got charged but the Caucasian that killed the guy in the boat accident long before this incident is still roaming free. This is why I have no confidence in this ra***t mission by the Governor and his UK Commissioner of police against the people of the BVI.

This is so wrong. Sappy, you do not deserve this. You don't even speed and that exit is very dangerous no matter how much care you take. I think it is the colour of your skin as the outcome is never the same if roles were reversed.

Plus, the White guy on the boat had been drinking alcohol and showing off to his friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He ran down a white man that died and he has been arrested in short order. But the white man who ran down a black man and killed him at sea some months later is not arrested, and it does not seem like he will be arrested. SMDH.

Get your facts right. He was arrested, investigated by a marine specialist and report has been submitted to DPP office and you don't know all the facts of the investigation.

You seem to know a lot about the investigation. If it was your daughter or son, would you have felt the same way that you do now?

The white man on the scooter COLLIDED with Sappy's truck. He passed other vehicles. A year has almost passed, so it's no short order.

Wake up people it's not about being racist. The ELITES wants everyone at war with each other so they use color as an issue. This is how it is and I am sure the guy who killed the man on sea can't live with himself either. Some people have conscious and they over think so who knows what he is going through. Do you all know him.. no and it not his decisions what the jugde is doing but you better realise that people have no control over these matters

No one studies the weight of the elephant until he gets on their foot. For those of you naive to think this is not part of some of the injustices being in sighted by the UK Governor and UK Commissioner of Police and their COI then guess again. You will wait for years before the Caucasian guy gets arrested for killing the young black male Frandy at sea. They will explain it so nice that our people will buy it. But this man going straight jail. Talk about fooling people to think that what is happening is not racism then talk about the UK well planned evil strategy.

Manynof Dos Santos' friends admitted that he rode his scooter wrecklessly and constantly asked that he slow down.

Anyone asking about a toxicology report for the scooter rider? He was drunk alot. There is a reason why he just rode along in helicopters and not fly them.

The GOVERNMENT is responsible for making sure our roads are SAFE. We all know that area is so dangerous and this is not the first accident there. The government is guilty of not fixing a KNOWN danger on our roads.

I can’t get no traction or justice after 14 surgeries and lucky just to be alive and have 2 legs still. I deal with this daily while the responsible party just living his life. I expect a slap on the wrist and this gets swept under the rug but nothing ah. go so!!

I find it concerning that the boat owner and operator of the Sunday fatalities ( a mother and infant) a few months ago,was not identified in the media by the authorities nor charged.
In addition the news article indicated several unidentified passengers were hospitalized.
    There has been no followup.
According to public input, the operator/ owner of the deadly fast boat is a Non BVIslander and a " businessman".

I thought that there was a witness that saw the entire accident. Why aren’t they not contacting him before they charge sappy. BVI people u all bet stand up for your rights or they will treat you all like they are doing on the mainland. Stand together my brothers and sisters and fight for justice. Tortola people must come together and demand justice. That’s all I’m saying

This is too harsh, the turning in question is a switchback where one has to drive one’s car virtually to the middle of the main road to see traffic coming from the West. Hopefully he will have a good solicitor represent him.

Come on people, leave race and other incidents out of this, it’s a potential injustice that needs no gilding, or, hyping up. That junction is a death trap and this man needs a good legal defense.
