'Caribbean’s growing influence' to be explored @ Arbitration Week 2026

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The Virgin Islands International Arbitration Centre will host Arbitration Week from March 23 to March 27, 2026, bringing together practitioners, decision-makers, and thought leaders committed to shaping the future of international arbitration.

This biennial gathering will offer a dynamic conference that includes training sessions and lectures under the theme "Caribbean Solutions, Global Impact." 

Discussion focuses on critical sectors  

Discussions will focus on critical sectors where arbitration plays a vital role in managing cross-border risks, including Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Fintech and Digital Assets, and Construction and Infrastructure. 

Guided by this year’s theme, "Caribbean Solutions, Global Impact," the conference will rigorously explore the Caribbean’s growing influence as both a seat and source of arbitration excellence. Through a week of focused discussions, the event will highlight how this region contributes meaningfully to dispute resolution on a global scale.

The week will feature a mix of professional development, substantive sessions, and networking opportunities.

The schedule includes:

Monday, March 23: Adjudication Training, supported by the Caribbean Development Bank and Columbia Law School.

Tuesday, March 24 - Wednesday, March 25: Two-day Dispute Resolution Board Training by the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF).

Wednesday, March 25: Official Welcome Cocktail Reception at Prime Restaurant (6:30 PM - 9:00 PM).

Thursday, March 26: Morning Pilates/Yoga on the beach at Cane Garden Bay, followed by The Archibald Lecture delivered by The Right Honourable Dame Justice Janice M. Pereira (6:00 PM - 8:00 PM).

Friday, March 27: Final conference sessions and the "Dinner Match" networking event, culminating in a "Law Rocks" battle-of-the-bands concert featuring legal professionals.
