PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI- Moments ago, July 13, 2020, a car turned turtle on the westbound carriageway of James Walter Francis Drive in the vicinity of Delta Service Station at Pasea Estate on the main island of Tortola.

According to reports reaching our newsroom from persons on the scene, a vehicle had proceeded into the westbound lane from the eastbound lane but appeared to have swung wide when the driver of an oncoming car swerved to avoid a collision but ended up hitting the guard rail and toppling.

The driver of the toppled car escaped with minor bruises.

He was promptly assisted out of his vehicle by public-spirited persons, including staff of Delta Petroleum.

Police are on the scene doing their investigations.

Traffic continues to move as the car is only blocking one of the lanes.

Driving on these roads has now become a stressful task. Some motorist are very selfish drivers; no courtesy at all to fellow motorists or pedestrians. Now that the traffic flow in Road Town has changed some motorist drives as if they don’t value their life or that of other motorists. It would seem that COVID-19 has made some motorists crazy. Praying for safety on these roads.

Them opposite down island cars as you call them are in fact the correct cars for driving on the left. We only went for left hand drive because they are cheaper to source from USA.

Motorists need to slow down some. Sometimes mainstreet looks like the Indy 500. Drive with due care and attention all.
