Cape Air deploys new aircraft to Caribbean

TRELLIS BAY, Beef Island, VI- Cape Air/Nantucket Airlines recently announced the deployment of its Tecnam P2012 Traveller to the Caribbean market, an aircraft the Hyannis-based company has been operating in the U.S. Northeast and Montana since 2019.

The aircraft will be circulating the Cape Air Caribbean market on select routes, including the Virgin Islands (VI).

The Tecnam P2012 Traveller made its first landing at Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport at Beef Island in the Virgin Islands on May 9, 2025.

Cape Air stated in a press release that it has been a key partner in the development of the Traveller, along with Lycoming engines and Garmin avionics.

“We are excited to introduce the Tecnam P2012 Traveller to our Caribbean network, offering our passengers a modern, stylish, and highly capable twin-engine aircraft perfect for connecting smaller communities. We are confident that this innovative aircraft will provide an exceptional flying experience for the passengers and communities we serve. We look forward to seeing the Traveller enhance our service throughout the Caribbean,” said Linda Markham, Cape Air President and CEO.

Modern aircraft

Equipped with the latest avionics from Garmin, the new G1000 Nxi and powered by two modern 375 HP Lycoming piston engines, the Tecnam P2012 Traveller has been designed from the start to be a very versatile and flexible aerial platform offering multi-role opportunities. The aircraft also features amenities like air conditioning, a USB port, an armrest, a cup holder, fresh air outlets and more legroom.

    Music Festival is good airline business. We have 2 useless planes Win Air and Inter Caribbean..Musc fest in June Antivua, Tortola arnival in July August, SK carnival the huge one in SK in Dec. SK seems to be the place where everyone wants to go, to add, we have CPL. In August Sept.
