Cafe tenants allowed to remove belongings from Cutlass Tower!
While owners declined to comment on the current status of the issue, sources indicated that the tenants were allowed back into the building to remove their belongings but both parties still await a final decision from the court. After the removal of the belongings the cafe remains boarded up as it was a month ago.
Building owner Mrs Patsy Lake also declined to offer any comment on the situation.
Allegations had been levelled by several persons that the owners of the Bakery were asked to remove from the premises after breaching terms of the agreement for the lease they had signed to operate the business.
The owners have since denied this, with Proprietor Morsha Smith noting that the business owners had been given permission to operate a bakery on the ground floor and had been doing this all along.
They were allegedly served notice on December 4, 2013 by building owner, Ms Patsy Lake, to vacate the premises within a one month period.
According to Ms Smith, the notice was served despite the fact that the tenants had not breached their contract in anyway whatsoever. She further alleged, “[this was] after we signed the five-year lease and made all payments on time...”
