BVI’s Darel Christopher Jr. competed in UCI World Racing Austria
His historic participation marked another first for the Territory, with Christopher Jr. already being the first local cyclist to compete in the sport on the international level.
In terms of performance, Christopher Jr. suffered mechanical problems and lost valuable time. However, he still managed to hit the finish line at 56/61 in the competition.
Mr. Christopher lived at Sea Cows Bay on the main Island of Tortola before moving to the United States of America to pursue his cycling career.
BVI a Member of UCI
Meanwhile, his father Darel Christopher Sr., the President of the BVI Cycling Federation attended the UCI meeting in Innsbruck, Austria on September 28, 2018.
He received a certificate making the BVI an official member of the UCI.
