MIAMI, Florida, USA- Accused Managing Director of the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) Ms Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard has waived her right to a detention hearing in US courts.

Pickering-Maynard, along with ex-premier of the Virgin Islands Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) was arrested at a Miami airport on April 28, 2022, by the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on charges related to conspiracy to import a controlled substance and money laundering.

In an order published last week, she was ordered detained after Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis considered Maynard’s pre-trial services report and determined that the risk of flight and the danger she presented to the community warranted her continued detention.

The detention order does allow Maynard’s counsel to request a full detention hearing at any time in the future should she decide to seek release.

VI Gov’t seeking to fire Pickering-Maynard

In an update to the territory on May 11, 2022, Premier Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) disclosed that the [British] Virgin Islands Government is seeking to terminate Ms Oleanvine Pickering-Maynard as Managing Director of the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA).

According to Dr Wheatley, the legal and practical issues involved in terminating the appointment of the current Managing Director are being examined and updates in this regard will be forthcoming.

Pickering-Maynard’s son Kadeem Maynard, who has also been arrested by US authorities on similar charges, is yet to make his initial appearance before the Southern District Court in Florida.

His last known location was detention in Puerto Rico, where he was awaiting transport to Miami.

Hon Fahie still seeking bail

Hon Fahie, on the other hand, is seeking release from the Detention Centre in Miami.

A US judge had ruled that Hon Fahie be granted $500,000 bond and conditions of release at a detention hearing on May 4, 2022, but that order has been stayed pending an appeal by prosecutors.

Let all ah dem stay incarcerated until the completion of this case. They misled everyone. I’m not rejoicing but I’m not sorry for them either. If this was a real Mexican drug lord and Andrew and Maynard got their fare share of payouts we the residents would not have gotten a penny. They did their crime let them serve their time in jail. No sympathy

Her favorite saying is “the world is round”. She thinks it is only round for her and not the people she treated out of the way on the job. She beat up her chest on port staff with the help of board members especially the females.

SCREAMS suspicion. He bulls**tting the people and needs to go. Either she in his ear or BVIPA board crooks in his ear or just another family affair if they are cousins. Terminate her contract and investigate every board created by Fahie. This job is too big for someone like him. The BVI may be better served without all the conflicts of interest in high places because cousin looking for excuses why they cannot fire cousin, even under the circumstances. If the director was from "down island", would he be experiencing this difficulty? NO!!

Those two are just plain people now. Stripped of their high job titles. No getting bulletproof car, getting in front of the lines in banks, supermarkets, etc. People will look at them with scorn now because they fooled us with their so-called prayers and fasting, well, at least we know they were not fasting, so we have lost all respect for them. As far as her son goes, everyone knew he was a crook for years, just didn't know how long he could hold out. ZERO sympathies for them, living high on the hog while so many here can barely eat.

@Grey Andrew didn't fool me with his false prayers and on his knees calling for prayer. Imagine he said that we should have fasted for two days due to the COI Report when he full-well knew that he was such a deceiver! I still can't catch myself with this. It feels like a dream. However, let this be a lesson to all who think that they can forever trample on those who they feel are below them. I can say that I cried many tears day and night with one whom Andrew may have had on his payroll. God does not sleep. The chickens have come home to roost. As the Psalmist David said, "Yet a little while and the wicked shall not be. You shall consider his place and he shall not be. God sees and in his own time he will hear and he has answered.

She already knows what time it is. Her best bet is to stay with the FEDS, do her time and disappear. They got her son out of St.Thomas and ship him to PR until they send him over to Florida. Don’t worry about her, she eating good in lock up. Heard in Federal prison they feed them well.

She knows that she is stripped of everything back here in Tortola ie job, home, clothes, designer bags, shoes, reputation, everything. She is going to make a deal with the Feds. Her ugly behind, Andrew and her little wanna be thug son is F***ed.

If she is granted bail she cannot leave Miami, so what will she do. Looks like she is a broke dealer, and The people who were guiding her hands and mind have forsaken her. The one who was in the plane with her when she was arrested is now going to her job from on the port causing mischief while getting paid from a job she was not going to.

While they were scheming people out of bread they could not see the schemes facing them. God see for us all. Hid us not mocked
