PORT PURCELL, Tortola, VI- The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA) has announced a temporary reduction in port-related fees as part of its 35th Anniversary initiatives.

Effective today 

Effective today, May 1, 2026, to July 31, 2026, wharfage has been reduced from 2% to 1%, and container handling fees have been lowered from $300 to $150 per Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEU).

According to a statement from the BVIPA, this initiative is in support of the Government’s response to the global fuel crisis and the associated rising cost of living. 

It added that this measure has been taken to ease the burden on partners and stakeholders while reinforcing BVIPA’s commitment to supporting the wider community during this period.
