BVIHSA Hospital & Primary Care Services Status
The BVIHSA in a release yesterday, October 4, 2023, said however, in the interest of safety, we have made the following adjustments:
1. Suspension of Outpatient Services: All outpatient services, including routine check-ups and non-emergency appointments, have been temporarily suspended until the all clear is received from the NEOC. This also applies to persons with appointments for elective surgeries on Thursday 5th October 2023.
2. Ancillary Services: Ancillary services such as imaging and laboratory services will be available for emergencies only.
3. Administrative Businesses: Administrative offices within the BVIHSA will be closed today. Staff responsible for administrative duties are encouraged to work remotely if possible.
In addition, please be advised that hospital visitation at the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital is not available at this time. We understand the importance of staying connected with loved ones during challenging times. Therefore, persons may contact the relevant unit for telephone updates on their loved ones.
For your convenience, the Iris O’Neal Clinic on Virgin Gorda is open for emergencies, and all other community clinics are available via emergency phones. Relevant contact numbers are listed below:
