BVIFA now certified to deliver CONCACAF C Licence Coaching Course

EAST END, Tortola, VI- In a historic moment on December 5, 2025, in Washington at the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw, BVI Football Association (BVIFA) President Avanell Morton was presented with the official CONCACAF Convention Membership Certificate by CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani.

This came after the BVIFA was voted in as a member of the CONCACAF Coaching Convention at the C Diploma Level on April 28, 2025.

The BVIFA is 1 of 16 convention members to be voted into the convention.

The accreditation certifies the BVIFA Coach Education department to deliver the CONCACAF C Licence.

New pathways

The convention was established by CONCACAF to standardise coaching education across the region as one of the pillars to improving the game at the regional level.

According to the BVIFA, this milestone not only affirms the BVIFA’s commitment to elevating coaching standards but also opens new pathways for developing homegrown talent across the Virgin Islands.

“With this accreditation, the Association stands poised to strengthen its technical programs, empower local coaches, and further align with global best practices, marking a transformative step forward for football in the Territory,” the BVIFA stated in a press release.
