BVI swim team nets medals in St. Lucia

Amara Phillip won a gold medal in 50 meter breast stroke.
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Team BVI has already collected a gold, silver and bronze medal in the OECS 21 Swim Meet that is currently underway in St. Lucia.

According to Verne Wheatley, president of the swimming federation, expectations are very high and more medals are expected to be collected this evening and tomorrow.

Amara Phillip won a gold medal in 50 meter breast stroke which was held at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre.

The team is expected back on Monday November 7.

    Congratulations to Swim Team BVI. I hope that upon their return more time will be taken to elaborate on their success. (At least to a length comparable to the detailed stories given when our young people do negative things). Once again congrats to those that placed and all others that took the time and put forth effort to represent the Territory.
