ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The bar belonging to the committee of the BVI Softball Association has been robbed again with several cases of beverages missing.

The bar was reportedly robbed in September 2011 following the closing of the Softball tournament last year and according to information reaching this news site, the latest robbery at the bar located on the grounds of the softball field in Road Town took place on May 10, 2012.

Speaking to Joseph Thomas, the Bartender, he said the bar was stocked last week for the opening of the softball season and he was at the bar up to Wednesday night May 9.

He stated that his next visit to the bar was yesterday May 11, 2012, around 4:45 p.m. to restock for today’s soft ball event (May 12), when he realized that the drinks were missing.

According to the Bartender, the hooligans got away with; 4 cases of Beers (Coors Light, Schaefer, Heineken), 4 cases of Sodas, 2 bottles of Hennessey, 2 bottles of Black Label, 2 bottles of Baileys, 2 bottles of Brandy, 2 bottles of Ginger Wine, 2 bottles of Malibu and 1 bottle of Absolute Vodka.

Mr. Thomas stated that after realizing there was a robbery, he then called the Vice President of the BVI Softball Association Mr. Glenford Maduro to tell him ‘what was up’, he then contacted Treasurer of the Association Ms. Violet DeCastro who contacted Ms. Marieta Headley, who serves as the association’s Secretary.

Mr. Thomas told this news site that after contacting the Police, they came but then left to return this morning May 12, because there were no lights.

He confirmed that this was not the first robbery, “They are always robbing us”.

Wow! I wonder if the Softball Association was at the Road Town Anti-Crime meeting. Like there's nothing these thieves won't steal.

So then does it mean now that the association will be installing closed-circuit cameras in all areas leading to the structure to catch the thieves? Don't forget to install a few on the shrubbery, fencing, stairways and all places so that the thieves can be caught!
