WICKHAM'S CAY, Tortola, VI- CEO of the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park (CBRTPP) Mr Vance M. Lewis has revealed that the new ‘BVI sign’ that has been erected at the CBRTPP was a popular request from cruise passengers.

The sign, which was constructed by Greencrete, serves as a backdrop for photographs for residents and visitors.

'Fitting memorabilia'

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the sign on February 16, 2022, Mr Lewis said: “This sign is by popular request from cruise passengers who wanted memorabilia when they came to the BVI and what a fitting way.”

He said further, the colours of the sign represent the VI’s sea, sand and sun.

“We have recycled glass as the main component in this sign and that is the first stage of us turning the CBRTPP [into] a green facility and perhaps it will be the first within the region to become a green facility,” he remarked.

Tourism, which is one of the territory’s main economic pillars, has been making a solid rebound after taking a major hit due to the coronavirus pandemic.

So, if they tell you dig a swimming hole where the round about is, you will do it? These are the same people who are going to tell you you look like everywhere else!

You do things for yourself, then let the tourists come to enjoy!
