EAST END, Tortola, VI- The BVI Post Office has announced the resumption of services to mailboxes located at the East End and Long Look Community Centre.

Acting Postmaster General Iris Romney, in a Government Information Service (GIS) press release, said that mail will be delivered to the mailboxes for box holders within the following number ranges:

  • 443-531
  • 2801-2972
  • 5000-5097
  • 6401-6476

Customers holding old keys are asked to have them returned to the General Post Office, at the Maduro Building in Road Town, where they will be issued new keys. If a customer does not have a key to return, they will be required to pay a fee of $20 to receive a new key.

Letterboxes are also available for rent in Anegada, Virgin Gorda (North Sound and The Valley), Cane Garden Bay, Cappoon’s Bay, West End, Sea Cow’s Bay, East End/Long Look, and Jost Van Dyke.

Persons interested in renting a mailbox may make a formal application by contacting the General Post Office or any nearby Post Office.

Letterboxes across the territory were destroyed by monster hurricanes Irma and Maria in September 2017.

Having to go the long distance to town for the last 8 years, where there is nowhere to park, has been a nightmare! Thank goodness, East End is up and running again. I have had missing mail, only to resurface 2 months later with no explanation as to where they were in the road town post office. Happy we can get back to almost normal again.
