BVI Ports Authority announces Emancipation Festival operating hours

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA) wishes to advise the public, customers, shipping agents, vessel operators, and stakeholders of its operating hours at Port Purcell during the 2026 Emancipation Festival holiday period.

As the Territory prepares to celebrate Emancipation Festival, the BVI Ports Authority extends best wishes to everyone for a safe, enjoyable, and memorable celebration and encourages all patrons to plan accordingly.

Festival Operating Hours:

Saturday, August 1, 2026- Offices open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Sunday, August 2, 2026- Administrative offices closed
                                   - Vessel operations will continue
Monday, August 3, 2026 (Festival Monday)-  All offices and operations closed

Tuesday, August 4, 2026-  Administrative offices closed
                                    -  Vessel operations will continue
Wednesday, August 5, 2026 - Administrative offices closed
                                         -  Vessel operations will continue

Resumption of Normal Operations
Normal operations across the BVI Ports Authority will resume on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

The BVI Ports Authority remains committed to ensuring the continuity of essential maritime services throughout the holiday period while facilitating the safe and efficient movement of passengers and cargo.
