ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The BVI Fish Fete is back, and this year will be a two-day event, kicking off on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

2 days of fish and fun

Following a break in 2023, the event will begin tomorrow with a Fish Fete Food Fair Caribbean Melting Pot, Steve E. Parillon of YOLO Promotions, organisers of the BVI Fish Fete, told Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) on Friday, October 18, 2024.

“The vendors are going to be having the various fish dishes from different Caribbean islands and that’s going to start from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.,” he said.

Patrons will be able to sit and eat at the venue, Wickhams Cay 1, behind the Government Administrative Complex, and will also be able to buy fresh fish.

In the evening, the BVI Fish Fry begins from 6:00 p.m. until midnight and is free of charge to attendees. Three bands are part of the lineup to include X-static, Bari and Intrusive along with DJs Bad Influence and DJ Nixx.

Sunday, October 20, 2024, will be the BVI Fish Fete Fiesta

Parillon said the lineup is a “grand” one featuring Armani from Jamaica making his Virgin Islands debut, Onyan from Antigua and Shaw HP the Band among a number of DJs.

Both days he added is going to be a “fun family event” adding “you can come get all your fish dishes that you want, fish in mayo, fish in creole, fried fish, the whole works

BVI Fish Fete moved to October from November

The first Fish Fete was held in November, however Parillon said holding the event in October has its advantages.

“We’re focusing on fish, at this present time lobster season is closed and obviously there’s a Lobster Fest at the end of November so they focus on lobster, we’re focused on fish,” he stated.

The BVI Fish Fete focuses on what he called one of the VI’s main dishes.

“We just want to give people the different options of fish, come out and enjoy fish and entertainment so it’s all about fish and entertainment,” Parillon added.

The BVI Fish Fete is an event organisers want to see grow to become an annual event attracting more vendors and patrons and bigger artists to the lineup.

First time hearing of this event. With holiday on Monday quite a few people made off island plans as there didn't seem to have a reason to hang around. Hope it's successful

Hope it’s successful as well. I am in Miami for the weekend to do some retail therapy and eat some Cuban food.

The name alone is not attractive or enticing., the just one was a flop and I supported Steve. This one will be no different. He has yet to host a successful event and ends up owing everyone who works for him. Or he creates drama whether with the police or the artists or govt authorities. Paradise has their anniversary party tonight. 40 plus basketball opens tonight. Commodore has his big party tonight. Aromas Old School party tonight. People don’t frig up that Steve taking out tax dollars and put in a murderer pocket. Nobody going no fish fete. This will be further proof why he shouldn’t be allowed to bring Kartel. He should stick to selling fish. I will support him then.

Does he have any successful events?? Bad position - go do it in the festival area in Apple Bay and include the local fisherman.
Please can we stop the BA open air concerts on that piece of land? There is no noise mitigation at all. Turn it into a park and Ferry dock.
