BVI Diabetes Association to host November events for Diabetes Month 2023

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The BVI Diabetes Association has announced a series and informative events for November 2023, to mark Diabetes Month as part of activities aimed at raising awareness about diabetes, its prevention, and management, and to support those affected by the chronic condition.

The month with kick off with a church service and lunch at Loose Mongoose. The special church service will be held at The Methodist Church, East End, followed by a delicious lunch at the Loose Mongoose on November 5, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.

Persons are also encouraged to Tune in to ZBVI's radio program, "The Almanac," throughout November for daily updates, expert insights, and essential information about diabetes, its management, and the latest research.

The society will also host pop-up screenings that cover Diabetes, Blood Pressure, and Cholesterol, and Educational sessions that will be held throughout the communities, schools, and businesses. 

Annual Elton Georges's Run set Nov 11, 2023

The annual Elton George's Run/Walk will also take place on November 11, 2023, at 5:30 am where the run/walk will start at the CBR Tortola Pier Park towards Sea Cows Bay and back.

More initiatives will include Paint the Town Blue where throughout the month, local businesses and individuals are being encouraged to "Paint the Town Blue" by decorating their storefronts or wearing blue in solidarity with the cause. Share your photos on social media with the hashtag

The winding down activities will include "Sneaker Day" on November 17, 2023, where persons are being encouraged to wear sneakers to work, school, or anywhere they go to showcase their commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle ahead of a ‘Cocktails with a Twist at the Governor's House’ set for November 25, 2023.

    Take your health back
    Make home made juices wogh little sugar
    Drink lots of water
    Dieting
    And drink some moringa bush
    Or parsley boil a jug and let draw
    Cinnamon sticks also works well boil n make tea
    Include flax seed in your diet

    Buy a makeshift sauna Amazon sells them
    Stay away from the fry food
    Stay away far away from the Chinese food
    Stay away from bbq
    Stay away from soda
    And Too much starchy foods
