If these are a set "ah mumu" why don't you join or your loved ones? By the way, what is your suggestions for a real force? What have YOU contributed to the territory?

when will we see the police patrolling our neighborhoods. Or will these news police sit in the room and watch the screens

The very presence of one police officer could prevent crime. The role of a full functional police department is A(the prevention of crime) & B(the detection of crime)

What going on now in the land; after some thing happen police in numbers. Whatever happen to the stop and search lets try to prevent criminal activity by having the police out on the streets

The people tax money pay them to work- I invite anyone to count the number of police in uniform on the streets during your travels around this little place

All we do is beat up on the politicians and rightfully so however law and order on the decline in the land

I may get flack for this but I'm going to say it anyway.
Since they were auxiliaries I'm going to assume their highest level of education is a high school diploma. This is the problem I have with our police force. We need to raise the level of education for entry into our institutions. They can't solve crimes. Look at the death of that young man. How in the name of Tarnation can you say someone die in a scooter accident when the basic part is missing. Don't they even watch CSI? Don't talk about taking statements. The spelling the grammar atrocious. The length of time they take to type a simple interview!!!! Nobody should enter the police force without the minimum an Associates degree!!

You have stated some valid points. However, a few of the Auxiliaries have an Associate Degree.

I agree with the level of education which needs to be set at a minimum criteria. I also agree that some of these officers on the Traffic Department cannot even complete a proper Caution Statement. The length of time it takes to be in the Station doing a simple interview and they on the computer typing one finger. Don't talk about the spelling and grammar. Then the report is signed by an Inspector who probably doesn't even read it. Now you want us to have confidence in them?? Clean up your act from within and stop the bahn here mentality. Educate yourself and earn your keep like we all have to do, immigrant or not. This is people's lives you are playing with. Protect and Serve.

I read all the comments, however I am forced to respond to this one as there are some critical points. Education how do we quantify it? Taking statements what is the timeline in taking a proper caution statement? Simple what makes it simple the interviewee or interviewer? Spelling and grammar were we taught how to do it all through education. My point is I have been around and been in law enforcement for some years and if it was a lucrative profession then maybe we would have had alot more locals and qualified persons want to join so what we need to do before we generalize is to get the facts on any aspects of Policing we want to discuss. The Police especially the lower ranks are creatures of instructions hence look to the top and help dealing with the problems there and we will get the dominoe effect trickling down. You also mention Statements being signed by Inspectors please explain? Let's be more meticulous in our critisms and considerate for your fellow men who decides to do what you don't care to do!

Some of them only join the force to avoid immigration and work permit issues while using the BVI for a stepping stone.

What is the issue? If you don't approve of them joining the police force, please apply and encourage your friends and family to do so. Let us all work together to keep our BVI a safe place to live, work and play.

Becoming a police offer is a calling; it takes years of training and risking your safety on a daily basis. Nobody is signing up for this job or getting hired for it on a whim.

Why are we so critical and always being negative about our fellow human being. This world would be much better if we support and encourage more. Remember tourism is our industry. We careful how we sell ourselves in this competitive world. Young people do tour best to uphold, protect and defend the laws of the land.

Auxiliaries , some of them were working traffic causing confusion. Can not even spell POLICE now they are police . One of them was my neighbor in long Bush , she is a trouble maker accusing everybody of working obeah on her. Telling people jealous of her . She is mentally ill.

Guilty conscience needs no accuser! If you have done something wrong and feel guilty about it, you will be uncomfortable and want to confess even if no one accuses you of wrongdoing.
