ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI— The British Virgin Islands Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the incoming Board of Directors for the 2026/27 term, marking the beginning of a new chapter of leadership, advocacy, and strategic engagement on behalf of the Territory’s business community.

In accordance with Article 41 of the Chamber’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, if one person is nominated for a particular office, that person is deemed to have been elected to that office.

The 2026/27 Board members are:

Chair: Sinclair H. Flemming Jr– P3 Plastic Paper Products

Chair-Elect: Meslyn M. George – Exquisite Events & Marketing Solutions

Membership Director: David McDonald – Corea’s Business Services

Advocacy Director: Aaron F. Parillon – CG Insurance

Events Director: Wilma Blyden – BVI Finance

Training Director: Marva Wheatley – H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC)

Past Chair (Ex-Officio): Shaina M. Smith – Smith & Associates

The newly constituted Board convened for its first meeting on January 27, 2026, where new Directors began orientation, setting priorities and laying the groundwork for what is anticipated to be an exciting and productive term.

At the inaugural meeting, Chair Sinclair Flemming articulated the key priorities that will guide the Chamber’s work over the coming year. These priorities include strengthening advocacy to advance business development and economic growth; deepening structured engagement with Government through initiatives designed to support micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that we are planning to be in consultation with large businesses in effort to reduce the complexity of business in the Virgin Islands; enhancing member value through expanded business training and capacity-building; and reinforcing the Chamber’s commitment to corporate social responsibility through youth mentorship aimed at developing the next generation of business leaders in the Virgin Islands.

“We plan to set a standard where Chamber advocacy and positioning are data-supported, outcome focused, and aligned with measurable economic realities,” stated Mr Flemming. He further emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration between the public and private sectors, noting that meaningful partnerships are essential for long-term economic development across the Territory.

Mr Flemming also expressed his enthusiasm for working closely with key stakeholders in advancing shared national priorities. The Board also encourages members who are interested in getting more involved in the work of the Chamber to express interest in serving in the vacant roles of Secretary, Treasurer, and Communications Director.

An Annual General Meeting for Chamber members will be scheduled shortly, at which the Board will formally present the 2026 Work Plan and Events Calendar and outline opportunities for member engagement and participation. The BVI Chamber of Commerce looks forward to the 2026/27 term with optimism and renewed purpose, as it continues to support, represent, and advocate for the business community of the Virgin Islands.
