BVI Cancer Society receives $3K from Vanterpool Enterprises
“We at the BVI Cancer Society are incredibly grateful to Vanterpool Enterprises Ltd. for their generous donation of $3,000 to support cancer prevention awareness in our community,” the cancer society said in a social media post announcing the gesture.
Prevention the post went on to say is an important part of the fight against cancer.
“Thanks to your support, we can continue to educate and empower our community to live healthier lives and lower their cancer risks...Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us take another step toward a healthier, more informed BVI. Together, we can make a real difference,” it said.
January is cervical cancer awareness month
Meantime, January is being recognised as Cervical Cancer Awareness Month under the theme ‘Learn, Prevent, Screen’.
The cancer society is therefore encouraging women to have their pap smears done.
