BVI Bayside Blazers hands St. Maarten championship trophy to Nagico



The BVI Bayside Blazers was the official team representing the (British) Virgin Islands at the July 15-21, 2018 sporting event where the BVI won for the third consecutive year.
Nagico has been there- Willock
The Manager and Owner of BVI Bayside Blazers, Julian Willock, said “after careful review I noted that since our basketball team was founded in 2014 Nagico has been the only consistent sponsor and continues to be there for the team.”
He further stated "I am delighted that our first overseas trip earned us a championship and I am pleased to have turned the winning trophy to Nagico, as a token of our gratitude to them as a consistent sponsor.”
On hand were the General Manager of Nagico, Mr. Shan Mohamed, BVI Bayside Blazers team captain Ray D. Victor, and Assistant Customer Service Manager at Nagico Ms. Ann Stacey Roberts. Mr Mohamed noted that Nagico is proud to support the Bayside Blazers and wished them well in future tournaments.”
BVI is a winner
The BVI won the popular basketball tournament championship in 2016, 2017 and 2018. The event is hosted by the ‘Dreams to Reality Foundation’ and the games are played at the LB Scott Sports Auditorium in St. Maarten.
Mr. Willock also noted that he has two different Bayside Blazers, one for home and a totally different team for overseas events.
The BVI delegation included the team’s Manager Julian Willock, Assistant Manager Derrick R. Varlack, Team Head Coach Ronald Simmonds aka ‘Gola’, assistant Coach Trevor M. Stevens aka ‘West’ of Virgin Gorda, Trainer Karl M. Scatliffe, and veteran player Kennedy H. Bass, who was also a special advisor to the basketball team and also the scorer.

The 10 players of the BVI Bayside Blazers championship team were Ray D. Victor (Team Captain), Killven M. Samuel, Cleo D. Sears, Kimani T. Stevens, Dion M. Blyden, Shamarr A. George, Jason A. Edwin, Daven D. Ottley, Dextroy D. Manswell and Akeme A. Smart.
