BVI Basketball Team defeated in game 3 by Dutch St. Maarten

PHILIPSBURG, St Maarten, WI- It was one of the toughest night for the BVI Bayside Blazers as they suffered their first loss last evening, July 17, 2018, against Dutch St. Maarten.

The BVI Basketball Team was defeated with a score of 93 to 85, giving the BVI Basketball Team its first loss for the tournament. BVI Bayside Blazers won their first two games against Team Holland and Team Santo.

Team advisor, Kennedy H. Bass noted that “the team lacked discipline defensively, but from here on it will be all wins”.

Team Manager, Julian Willock told our sports desk,  “the coach took them to the locker room, they trashed out the issues and I remain confident that they are now fired up and ready to play”.

The BVI Bayside Blazers will face French St. Martin in game 4 tonight, Wednesday July 18, 2018, at 8:00 P.M. in the fifth annual Dreams to Reality Foundation 2018 Battle of the fittest basketball tournament.

Top scorers

Top scores for the BVI Bayside Blazers was Jason A. Edwin with 25 pts, 9 rebounds, and 1 asst. Team captain  Ray D. Victor came in with 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 asst.

Coming next for the BVI Basketball team was Daven D. Ottley with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 1 asst and 1 steals. Player Dextroy D. Manwell came in with 7 points, 4 rebound and 1 steal.

This evening’s matchup against French St. Maarten, in the LB Scott Sports Auditorium, is expected to be another competitive game.
