SLANEY POINT, Tortola, VI- Reports reaching Virgin Islands News Online indicate that the popular auto centre, Tortola Auto Group (TAG), was targeted by burglars this week but failed in their quest.

Our newsroom was told that the burglars made their attempts on the car dealership and parts store sometime between the night of Monday, February 10 and the wee hours of Tuesday, February 11, 2020.

The source said a door to the Carquest parts store was broken but the burglars were still unable to gain entry.

The reports of the attempted break-in were confirmed by Police Information Officer, Ms Akia L. Thomas.

“I can confirm a report of an attempted burglary at TAG was received on February 11 at approximately 8:00am,” Ms Thomas told Virgin Islands News Online on Friday, February 14, 2020.

It was on January 24, 2020 that burglars entered Bobby's Marketplace on DeCastro Street, Tortola, and made off with cash after managing to gain entry to a safe.
