ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A local sewing establishment on Wickham's Cay II, on Tortola, was broken into and ransacked at the weekend.

Reports reaching our newsroom indicate that burglars gained access to “Sew It Seams’, owned by Lena Thomas, by smashing a glass door.

Shameek T. Grant, speaking to Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) today, December 14, 2020, said his mom, who is the owner of the business, discovered the break-in around 10:30 pm on Sunday, December 13, 2020, when she visited the promises.

He said while the burglars did not get any cash, they damaged the front door of the establishment as well as an empty cash register.

It is unclear if anyone has been arrested.

Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) will provide more information as it becomes available.

Business owners need to invest in installing grills over glass windows, doors etc,
Also a good security system that can alert you when someone broke in or attempt to broke into your business place.
