Britney Wattley crosses academic finish line at Morgan State!
Wattley, a 2008 graduate of Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS), graduated from Morgan State within four and a half years with a degree in Business Administration. She also finished with a 3.17 GPA while competing at the Division One level in the sport of track and field for the Morgan State Bears.
According to the Head Coach of Morgan State University, Nevil Hodge, “Britney Wattley made some accomplishments not just in the classroom but on the track as well during her years at Morgan State University.”
In fact, Wattley is the MEAC 100m champion, member of the 2012 MEAC championship 4x100m relay record setting team, and member of the ECAC eastern collegiate athletic conference 4x100m championship relay team. In 2012, she was 2nd in the 200m at the ECAC outdoor championships and a 2012 NCAA East regional outdoor championship 100m and 200m qualifier.
Wattley has a personal best in the 100m of 11.60 seconds and 23.67 seconds in the 200m.
While a student of the Elmore Stoutt High School, Wattley was part of the BVI Carifta team from 2005-2009 and was also team captain for Carlisle House. In High school she also broke five school records; in the 100m (12.3), 200m (24.70), 400m (57.27), 4x100m and 4x400m. Wattley also helped the U-17 4x100m team to a 1st place finish in the 200m (24.90) at the Leeward Islands Championships.
Britney Wattley is the daughter of Bernell and Daphne Wattley.
