LONDON, United Kingdon — King Charles Philip Arthur George aka ‘King Charles III’ was today, May 6, 2023, crowned monarch of the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland in London, in a ceremony steeped in tradition and pageantry surrounding the British monarchy.

Shouts of "God Save the King!" were heard, trumpets sounded and gun salutes rang out after the Archbishop of Canterbury placed the crown on Charles' head at Westminster Abbey reported NBC news.

Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, then returned to Buckingham Palace in a sumptuous procession cheered on by crowds lining the roads in London.

The couple and other members of the family, including Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, and their three children appeared on the palace's balcony and greeted a flag-waving crowd below them. Not everyone is a fan of King Charles and the royals, however, and dozens of anti-monarchy activists and other protesters were arrested earlier on Saturday morning.

Queen died on September 8, 2022

The coronation of Charles, 74, comes almost eight months after he ascended the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022.

After the coronation, King Charles will have to navigate scandals and tricky family relationships that could tarnish his reign and the monarchy itself where past and ongoing issues with Prince Andrew, Prince Harry, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and even his wife, Camilla, could overshadow the new king’s rule if they are not carefully managed, royal experts say.

“The royal family is one of the most visible and tenuous aspects of the crown’s overall brand,” said Cele Otnes, co-author of “Royal Fever: The British Monarchy in Consumer Culture.” “It’s hard to manage people,” she added.

Gun salutes were fired at the exact moment the St. Edward’s Crown was placed on the king’s head from military bases across the U.K.

In the Virgin Islands, Monday, May 8, 2023, has been declared a public holiday by His Excellency the Governor Mr. John J. Rankin CMG in commemoration of the King's coronation.

The struggle for being a colony under the UK is the huge cultural difference where they are now using their powers to try to eliminate who we are so we can become them and then it can be one big global Britan family. This is not what the people want but they do not care.

The UK would grant the BVI independence in a heartbeat, all we have to do is ask.

Dear Mr. Premier, while you attended the pomp and circumstance of the king’s coronation, many of us were at home in the BVI without electricity, our discomfort compounded by the current heat wave.

While you were driven around the streets of London, in your cozy limousine, on well-constructed roads, just like the past 40+ years, we were dramatically increasing the wear and tear of our vehicles, at times damaging an upper arm or two, failing into the volcanic craters that pervade our poorly constructed roads.

Need I remind you that these are the very same roads that we have been so graciously afforded by previously consecutive governments but more so by your political party.

While you celebrated lavishly amongst the murderers and thieves of our ancestral heritage, parading, eating, drinking and dressing elaborately, many of us at home have opted to starve, through the high cost of living just to ensure that we can cover the cost of a roof over our heads and utilities such as the very same electricity that off at the very same time, on.

While the air that you inhaled may have smelled of potpourri, not only the stench but the actual sewerage washed our streets as we walked, played in as well as drove through.

If today, right now, immediately…most if not all expatriates evacuate back to their home countries, as was done after Hurricanes Irm-Maria, where exactly can and will we as BVIslanders go to and for refuge?

As that there is no place like home, we kindly ask that, you go within before going out, fix your yard before you go abroad, straighten your home before you roam and finally provide this island nation, with the basic infrastructure of any developing country, before you announce to the world, that you are the chosen representation of who and what we are please?

Relax BH100. Do not envy the murderers and thieves of the meaningless life they have left. They will end up in the same place as those that died before them. A state of terrible guilt and regret. And being held up to shame and everlasting contempt. There is no hell worse than that.

Imagine the National Anthem spoke about God save the Queen and now speaks of God save the King but never the people or both. When will we wake up & see this relationship is not in our best interest for the future.

Agreed, not only her necklace, her earrings, the jewelry around his neck and the crowns on their heads is worth millions of dollars. Don’t forget the royal robe, that is worth thousands of dollars.

Much like the gold chains hanging on the necks of your resident drug pushers and hired murderers along with other spoils of the trade such as
        human trafficking and pimping.
