ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Judy-Ann Smith, one of the key organisers for the Carrot Bay Cultural Fiesta for Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival 2017, did indicate that the list of international artistes was incomplete while at the press briefing on July 4, 2017 called by the VI Festival and Fairs Committee (VIF&FC).

Today the line-up for the western end of the territory's Emancipation festivities which is slated for August 10 and 11, 2017 is complete with Bounty killer and Jahmiel of Jamaica.

On August 10, 2017 the show will kick off with OMG Band followed by T-Vice, a popular Haitian Band resident in the USA. They will also share the stage with Zouk band Triple Kay out of Dominica, and Stylee Band from St Croix, US Virgin Islands.

The theme for Virgin Islands Emancipation Festival this year is, ‘A Colorful Kaleidoscope To Be Seen, Creating A Cultural Scene For Festival 2017’.

Could any sensible person tell me why you would have all those artist for one night? This is the way our tax money are being wasted every year. You have to find the money to pay all those foreign artists but local ones have to wait months. The next thing they bringing artist that come on stage with their pants falling off promoting gangsta life in this place. A lot of those artist have police record, however they are able to come just to make money. We have to set standards and uphold them. We asking what happen to our youths, while we are the same people that are promoting this violence life to them through these ganga smoking artist. The truth will always hurt. I been there, I know what I am talking about. The Virgin Gorda Festival Committee is now bankerupt due to that same thing of bringing unnecessary artist. This is about their second consecutive year of bankeruptcy. Fifty thousand dollars in the red. Lord send help.
