ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The recent joint task force initiative to beef up border surveillance is already bearing fruit as, according to Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), the team has already prevented an apparent attempt at illegal entry.

As far as i know BVI does not have a coast guard. if u are referring to the US Coast Guard they have no responsibility to protect BVI borders. It is not illegal for a boat to leave USVI as their borders are open no matter who is on board.

Thwarted how, with a water gun? Told that they were being bad and to turn around, only so that they can try again under cover of darkness a few hours later? Why do I feel that this is just a story to make people feel better...

They blew whistles and shouted ..” Oi there . Stop in the name of the queen!”

When that failed they used veiled threats like ...” We SHALL WELL BARGE over there to make you stop, if you do not take heed!”

what you fail to realize is that the U.S. really dont care what's leaving their shores but dont bring anything in that is not supposed to come in.

WHO, has the oversight of these boats and human operators???look at the state of the NEW PATROL VEHICLES?? last time i checked, having a boat is like throwing money in the ocean . Yes they are needed but who is reporting to who ""the government got money". When one personally owns something due care is given in comparison to where it's not there. Just saying to protect MY PENSION FUND!!!

We can't stop illegal scoters on an Island with only so many miles of road. How are we going to police the sea with our three goverment boats? Let the UK navy help before lives are lost and our economy is dead.

A charter boat approached the US/BVI boarder then turned away as it should have done. Police just watched then wrongfully took credit, high fived then had a beer.
