Bishop Cline: Non Virgin Islander “identified” for BVIHSA CEO
Speaking to members of the media this morning, June 14, 2012, Bishop Cline stated that “we are diligently in the process of getting the position of CEO filled.”
When asked if someone has been identified he replied, “Yes...it’s a non- Virgin Islander.”
However, the individual he or she will be replacing is a Virgin Islander, Dr. Ronald Georges, who took up the position in August 2008 in a acting capacity. His contract came to an end earlier in the year.
Prior to that, he was the Director of Primary Health Care with responsibility for the Community Clinics.
When he took over as Director in 2007, Dr. Georges set about to put together a strategic plan for primary health care to guide the department and set about trying to bring about change, the job offered him the opportunity to have a more direct impact in the health care services than previously.
