NORTH SOUND, Virgin Gorda, VI - Biras Creek Resort, the luxury property located in North Sound, Virgin Gorda, has received a record-setting number of accolades in 2012 in recognition of its excellence in global travel and tourism. The most recent award from the world renowned Condé Nast Johansens brings to eight the number of awards received by the resort this year.

Biras Creek, an intimate property featuring just 31 suites set among 140 acres, was recently named Most Excellent Small Resort in the Atlantic, Caribbean and Pacific Islands by Condé Nast Johansens during the recent announcement of its 2013 Awards for Excellence. This is the second Condé Nast award Biras Creek has received this year. In January, the resort received a Condé Nast Readers Choice Award. It was rated #6 among the Top 30 Resorts in the Caribbean with readers giving the resort a score of 93.1 out of a maximum 100 points.

In August, Biras Creek received two awards, one from Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards where readers rated the resort #7 among the Top 25 Resorts in the Caribbean, Bermuda, Bahamas; and the second from the World Travel Awards, which recognized the resort as a Leading Hotel in the British Virgin Islands for the fourth consecutive year.

September brought news of the Huffington Post award for which the resort was rated #1 for the Best Hotel Villas in the Caribbean and in October, Caribbean World Travel and Living Awards named Biras Creek Best Couples Resort of the Year.

The resort has also received two awards from TripAdvisor. In January, Biras Creek received a TripAdvisor 2012 Travelers’ Choice Award. That award selects the best destinations and hotels worldwide and Biras Creek was rated 3 among the Top 25 All Inclusive Resorts in the Caribbean. The second TripAdvisor award came in June, this time the Certificate of Excellence, recognising excellence in hospitality. For these awards, properties need to maintain a score of four or more out of five.

With a strong commitment to delivering outstanding service and providing world-class amenities, awards are gradually becoming an inextricable part of the resort’s décor. “It is humbling to have received so many awards this year. We are indeed honoured to be recognized by our peers in the travel and tourism industry, by travel agents and by our guests,” said Craig Stolzenfels, General Manager for the resort. He added, “Our team strives to continue our tradition of excellence by consistently delivering memorable guest experiences.”
